Robert A. Werth is a Civil and Construction Engineer, experienced in international construction business, with extensive experience in preparing and defending quantum and time related claims and in providing contractual advice and trainings in a broad range of construction sectors, including civil engineering, rail, roads, tunneling, marine, wastewater, solid waste, power, building, mechanical and electrical sectors and O&M services.
Robert has three decades of international experience gained when working with or on behalf of owners, operators, contractors, lawyers and consulting organizations, on numerous projects throughout more than twenty Countries, acting in various capacities, including advocate in pursuit and defense of claims, as an independent expert and/or as the appointed arbitrator/adjudicator of disputes; expert on EPC and BOT projects.
Own experience in both, construction and difficult contractual situations is often a key in providing services related to alternative dispute resolutions. There is a wide range of such experience available compared with practiced skills and methods of modern arbitration and adjudication procedures.
Robert A. Werth has compilation of several professional educations as draftsman, Dipl.-Ing., Baumeister in respect of design and execution and later in adjudication and arbitration. He was the first member of the German national list of adjudicators in 2008 and became appointed member of the FIDIC president´s list of approved dispute adjudicators in 2016. The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators awarded the diploma in international commercial arbitration and subsequent he was admitted as a Fellow by the Institute in 2019. He serves as a panelist in several international conferences in the area of international construction contract and disputes.
Robert is a Member of FIDIC, ICC, DIS, CIArb, DGA-Bau, SL-Bau, GMAA, VBI
He is Chairman of the advisory board and lecturer of the post-graduate master course ´Practice and Law (MBE)´, University of Stuttgart, Institute of Construction Management, Univ,-Prof. Dr-Ing. Fritz Berner.
He is co-author of the 1st and 2nd Edition of “International Construction Contract Law”, published 2015 and 2018 by Lukas Klee
He is Member of FIDIC Task Group No. 8 – Update of the Green Book, pre-release in 2020, final publication scheduled for 2021.
